Rose Collection for 2017

Rose Collection for 2017

For those who know me, I enjoy gardening.  I have for several years now.  A  couple years ago, I decided that I wanted to set out a rose garden.  It just happens to turn out that this year was the first year when the gardens had the most blooms.  And today, I would like to share that with you.  Since, its summer now, I don’t expect many more blooms for this year.  Perhaps later in fall, I may have some more.  Throughout the year, I have kept pictures so that I could put together a rose collection for 2017 to show everyone.

Altogether, I believe I have something along the lines of 13 bushes this year, and I plan on buying more next year.    Many of my friends have suggested that I start sharing my photos of the rose blooms.  So I present to you this year’s flowers.

For those interested

For those that are interested in what breeds that I currently have, unfortunately that is a little troublesome.   Since a rose can have many name’s after their patent expires, sometimes this can be confusing to sort out.  Below are the roses that I know I have for sure.

  • Climbing Don Juan
  • “Blue Moon” Hybrid Tea Rose
  • Hybrid Tea Rose “Tropicana”
  • Yellow Queen Elizabeth / Picante grafted mix

With that being said, I have set out some new  bushes in a flower box for next year.  These are sourced from a better nursery as well. I made sure to keep the tags with these five, so hopefully next spring, I will have 5 more to display.  This year has been super rainy, and it’s been a battle keeping the black spot under control.  But I think this year, my gardens did pretty well considering.

I hope you enjoyed my rose collection for 2017.  Be sure to sound off in the comments if you have anything to add or suggest!
